"Autodidactism" is a fancy term for the process of being self-taught. In this process, there is room not just for the formal (Non-)Sense of Social Epistemology, but for the Meanings that one or more Individuals bring to their experience of life as they have lived it; in addition, there is room for Truths that are uncomfortable or inconvenient for the larger society to include, recognize, reward, or acknowledge as being part of the canon of facts upon which decisions may be based in any attempt to communicate and negotiate rationally with others.
